Steve Swanson – President & CEO
1973 Graduate of Umpqua Community College, and additionally attended University of Oregon from 1972-1977. Joined Superior Lumber Co. (now Swanson Group, Inc.) in 1997 where he started as the Office Manager, and over the years has taken on progressively more responsibility culminating in his role as the President and CEO of Swanson Group beginning in 2001.

Chris Swanson – Vice President of Sales & Marketing
A third generation owner who graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS in Political Science. Work experience includes more than 3-years of progressive responsibility in mill sales, culminating in the role of stud sales manager. Following that he spent 5-years in operations where he ultimately spent time at both the Glendale Sawmill and the Roseburg Studmill as the location’s top manager. Chris was promoted to VP of Sales & Marketing in 2012.

Rick Bernheisel – Vice President & CFO
Graduate of Oregon State University with a major in accounting and a minor in organizational behavior. MBA from Southern Oregon University. Work experience includes: 10-years with Timber Products ending as Regional Accounting Supervisor; and 9-years with Swanson Group, where he started as the Controller of Superior Helicopter, LLC (currently Swanson Group Aviation, LLC) and now holds the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Jim Dudley – Vice President of Timber Resources
1992 graduate of Humboldt State University with a BS in Wildlife biology. Work experience includes 2 years with Natural Resource Management Company, 5 years with Louisiana Pacific, 3 years with Mendocino Redwood Company, and 11 years with Roseburg Forest Products before joining the Swanson Group in 2013. He held progressive positions of Wildlife Biologist, Timber Cruiser, Log Buyer, Logging Supervisor, and Timber Manager. He is a licensed professional forester and has worked from the redwoods to the Sierras to Alaska buying logs.

Tim Hennessey – Vice President of Human Resources
B.S., Kansas State University; dual major in Labor Relations and Business Management; Completed graduate studies at Bastyr University: Leadership Institute of Seattle in Organization in Development and Consulting. Work experience includes 19 years in Human Resources and Organizational Development within the manufacturing industry. 13 years with hardwood plywood company starting as HR Manager and promoted to Regional Human Resource Director. In 2004, began employment with Swanson Group, Inc. as the Human Resource Director; promoted in 2005 to his current position, Vice President of Human Resources.

Jeff Remington – Vice President of Engineering
Attended Centralia Community College and Skagit Valley College before transferring to Oregon State University in 1988 with an emphasis in Forest Products. Work history includes 15 years with TreeSource Industries in progressive roles in manufacturing including multiple facility responsibility at the corporate level. Joined the Swanson Group in 2003 as the Corporate Mill Services Manager overseeing engineering, capital projects, purchasing and environmental compliance, and was recently was promoted to his current position VP of Engineering.
