Dimensional Lumber
Swanson Group Mfg. LLC, Glendale Sawmill is the original mill that Dean and Rod Swanson started in 1951 as Superior Lumber and which they converted to small log production in the late 60’s. The mill produces Green Doug Fir in 2x4 through 2x10 in 6’ to 20’ lengths, although 2x4 and 2x6 remain the most common sizes. The Glendale mill has shown its resiliency and adaptability in the face of the protracted housing drought by producing small timers, railroad ties and most recently metric sized wood for the export market. Dimension lumber accounts for the majority of production in Glendale, but the mill also produces some 1" boards, timbers, and railroad ties.
The primary grades and sizes of dimension produced by Swanson Group Mfg. LLC are:

Swanson Group uses an anti-stain treatment on all dimension lumber to provide protection against mold and to help the wood store better in a lumberyard. The units are end painted red with a sealant that also protects the wood. Each unit is tagged with an inventory label that identifies the time and date of production as well as the size, length, and piece count of the item. We use this inventory tag system to improve mill quality control and to monitor finished inventory rotation ensuring that our customers' orders are filled with bright fresh stock.
